Maroochy
Shire National and Environmental
Parks
Eight
national parks and five environmental
parks are in or partly within the Maroochy
Shire. Together these parks make a
significant contribution towards the long
term conservation of our natural
environment. They represent a wide variety
of plant communities and provide habitats
for a diverse population of
wildlife.
Conondale
National Park 2126ha (two
parts)
Wet
eucalypt and sub-tropical rainforests are
the main vegetation associations preserved
in these parks. Both are managed as
wilderness areas. Camping is not
permitted.
Department
of Forestry camping areas are provided
nearby at Booloumba Creek and Charlie
Moreland State Forest Parks. Department of
Forestry roads provide access to the park
for wilderness bushwalkers (Department of
Forestry access permit
required).
Obtain
detailed maps from Department of
Forestry.
