Fabro, one of the westernmost Umbrian centres, is situated on a hill near the Chiani stream.
The economy of Fabro is traditionally tied to agriculture, while on the other hand the fact that it is near the "Sole" motorway, half way between Florence and Rome, has accelerated its growth and development in the handicraft and tourism sectors.
BRIEF HISTORY
Fabro is a fortified village founded in Medieval times and its history coincides with that of Orvieto.
No historical documents exist prior to 1810 because Napoleons troops destroyed the communal archives when passing through this area. The only document remaining is the Statute of Castello di Fabro drawn up in 1548
